Most people who are open to FFXIV, GW2, etc. In short, they’re trying to play solitaire at a poker table. I find that most people who categorically hate MMOs are people who are too shy/anxious/whatever (perfectly valid) to find a group to play with, or reach out, or interact in a massively multiplayer game. I ask them, did you play with anybody? Their response, every time, is “No”. They say they’re terrifically boring, et cetera, et cetera.

Some of my best friends are like this - they hate MMOs. Everyone out there doesn’t have to like ESO and that’s ok, but I would just encourage those people to research some of the late game content and see if there’s anything they might be interested in before getting to Bal Foyen and calling it a day. Just for clarification, yes everyone is entitled to their own opinion and I understand and respect that. Am I the only one who enjoys both the traditional games and ESO? I never realized just how polarized the player bases were…Įdit 2: Wow, thanks for the responses guys. How can you expect to experience a game, especially a TES game in less than at least 50 hours?Įdit: Oh boy. And it’s ironic because I’ve found like 4 out of 5 times, those that voice the most hate have never played the game for more than a couple hours. It makes me sad to see such a fun game, in my opinion, get so much hate since it strayed from the traditional TES formula. I hate mmos but ESO has been the only one so far that I can come back to because I love TES and because the combat is actually fun and not trying to manage 20 skills across 5 skill bars like every other traditional mmo. Look, I know the the game isn’t perfect, but it’s an mmo, that comes with certain mechanics and restrictions. Recently made a comment on another TES6 post in the elder scrolls sub Reddit that suggested they try out ESO while they wait and immediately got hounded about how everyone hates the game for micro transactions or for the pure fact that there are other people in the game.
